The Alexander Cameron KC Criminal Mock Trial

Members of chambers, together with members of Alex Cameron’s family, were delighted to attend the final of Inner Temple’s new criminal mock trial competition at the Old Bailey on 5 February, and to present the inaugural Alexander Cameron KC Memorial Award at a reception in Inner Temple afterwards.

12 candidates competed, with the final two prosecuting and defending a ‘sexual assault’ case in Court No. 2 of the Old Bailey.  Congratulations go to the winner, Casey-Mae Kellet, who represented the defendant, and to the runner up, Neel Rokad, who prosecuted.

Hugo Keith KC presented our prizes of £1,000 to Casey-Mae and £500 to Neel, paying tribute to Alex Cameron’s formidable advocacy skills, his dedication and his work ethic, qualities which he urged the finalists to aspire to.

We would like to acknowledge the sterling work of the Inner Temple Education Department in devising the competition, assisted by Alejandra Tascon of 5KBW.  We are delighted to be associated with the competition.
