Appeal allowed for police officer who caused death by dangerous driving

In April 2026, former PC Mark Roberts was sentenced to 27 months immediate imprisonment for causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving, after he collided with a motorbike on his way to trying to help a 5 week old baby with breathing difficulties. The Court of Appeal allowed Mr Roberts’ appeal against sentence, resulting in a suspended sentence of imprisonment and his immediate release from prison.
