Saba Naqshbandi KC represents members of Saffron Cole-Nottage’s family in inquest

Saffron slipped and fell headfirst into rocks on the Lowestoft coastline on 2 February 2025. The Coroner made findings concerning the ambulance service’s emergency response, including delays in contacting the Fire and Rescue Service after the 999 caller reported Saffron was “caught head down in the rock”.

When firefighters arrived, they were told Saffron had died, contrary to accepted guidance for drowning incidents. Firefighters disagreed and freed Saffron from the rocks in under 30 seconds, but sadly it was too late.

The Coroner also issued a Prevention of Future Deaths Report to the ambulance service, NHS England and the National College of Policing.
