The first report of the Southport Inquiry was published on 13 April 2026. The Inquiry also published its Terms of Reference for Phase 2, which will consider national arrangements for managing the risk posed by violence-fixated individuals.
Matthew Butt KC and Ruby Shrimpton continue to represent Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTPHQ) in the public inquiry.
CTPHQ provides direction, support and coordination to the Counter Terrorism Policing network within England and Wales.
