Nirav Modi application to reopen extradition appeal refused

A Divisional Court (Stuart Smith LJ and Jay J) has refused an application by high-profile Indian businessman Nirav Modi to reopen an extradition appeal. Mr Modi is alleged to have defrauded an Indian bank of in excess of $1bn and his extradition has been sought by the Government of India since 2019.

Helen Malcolm KC and Nicholas Hearn have acted for the Government of India throughout the extradition proceedings.
