International Crime Training and Advocacy Day and LAE Debate 2026

On Saturday 31st January 2026, Three Raymond Buildings hosted its third International Crime Training and Advocacy Day attended by over 50 participants. After a morning of presentations introducing students to key concepts in universal jurisdiction, sanctions and extradition, all of the students prepared and delivered submissions in an application for permission to appeal an order for extradition. We ran 13 in person “court rooms” which enabled the students to receive one on one feedback from experienced extradition practitioners.

The event was held simultaneously with a debating competition for students from the London Academy of Excellence in Tottenham. Ten teams of 30 students competed in two rounds before a final where the top two teams debated the motion: “This House would impose legal controls upon the development of Artificial Intelligence.”
