Alisdair Willamson KC featured in The Lawyers Top 20 Cases of 2026

Alisdair is instructed on behalf of British hedge fund manager Crispin Odey, instructed by Jill Lorimer at Kingsley Napley, in Crispin Odey v The FCA. The case is due to be heard this year before the Upper Tribunal (Tax and Chancery).

Mr Odey is challenging the FCA’s decision to fine him £1.8m and to ban him from working in the financial sector for a lack of integrity. The case raises important issues about the extent of the FCA’s jurisdiction to discipline individuals and/or controllers of authorised persons for breaches of its code of conduct.
