Police Appeals Tribunal overturns findings against police officer

On 13 October a Police Appeals Tribunal chaired by Sam Stein KC allowed both grounds of appeal against the findings made by a Merseyside Police Gross Misconduct Hearing last December.

The PAT found that the panel had unreasonably failed to consider witness evidence that supported the Officer, and had taken an unreasonable approach to considering whether the Officer had acted for the purpose of sexual gratification. The Officer was represented by Rosa Bennathan, instructed by Alan Greenidge at Straw and Pearce.
