Judgment was today handed down in a wide-ranging appeal concerning the first extradition request to be heard following the implementation of the Extradition Treaty between the Government of the United Kingdom and the Government of the State of Kuwait. Mr Badie’s extradition was sought by Kuwait following his conviction for participation in a high-value fraud and money laundering scheme. The Divisional Court dismissed the appeal and upheld the order for extradition.
