Counter Terrorism Specialist Firearms Officers Cleared of Gross Misconduct Over 2018 Shooting

Two Metropolitan Police CTSFOs were today cleared of gross misconduct following a three week gross misconduct hearing at Palestra House.

The officers known by ciphers NX1 and MY55 were engaged in a mobile armed support to surveillance operation when they both discharged firearms and shot a man engaged in a conspiracy to rob.

Matthew Butt KC and Robert Morris represented NX1 at the gross misconduct hearing and in previous criminal proceedings over the same matter.
