Police failures did not contribute to unlawful killing conclusion returned in Gracie Spinks Inquest

On 16 November 2023, Derbyshire Coroner’s Court returned a conclusion of unlawful killing in the death of Gracie Spinks following a three-week inquest before HM Assistant Coroner Kewley and a jury. Although Derbyshire Constabulary admitted a number of failures in the handling of a stalking complaint made by Miss Spinks and the discovery of a rucksack of weapons, the Coroner directed the jury to find that those failures were not probably or even possibly causative of death.

Robert Morris and Reka Hollos represented five individual officers.
