Ian Curson was today acquitted of murder and an additional charge of possession of an offensive weapon after a four week trial at Leicester Crown Court.
The prosecution alleged that Mr Curson had killed his then partner by a blow from a weapon and sought to prove this by expert evidence. The jury heard evidence from five pathologists over the course of the trial.
