Alun Titford and Sarah Lloyd-Jones’ prison sentences deemed unduly lenient by the Court of Appeal

Alun Titford and Sarah Lloyd-Jones have had their sentences for the manslaughter of their disabled daughter increased by the Court of Appeal.

Kaylea Titford was a highly vulnerable disabled teenager, dependent upon her parents for her care. Over seven months, beginning with the first Covid lockdown in March 2020, she suffered appalling neglect, living and ultimately dying in squalid conditions described as “unfit for any animal”.

Bill Emlyn Jones KC appeared on behalf of the Attorney General, instructed by the Crown Prosecution Service.
