Met Police Officers Cleared in Police Shooting Case

Two Metropolitan Police officers have been cleared today in relation to a police shooting. Following an investigation by the IOPC, the two officers had been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent. However, following a painstaking review of the evidence and the disclosure in this case, the Crown Prosecution Service offered no evidence on the first day of trial on the basis that there was not a realistic prospect of conviction.

Matthew Butt QC and Robert Morris represented the first officer.
