Publication of IICSA report into religious organisations

Following hearings in 2020, the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse has published its report into Child Protection in Religious Organisations and Settings.

The report identified serious safeguarding failings among the 38 organisations which were reviewed.

Genevieve Woods acted for the Methodist Church of Great Britain, which was identified by the Panel as an example of good child protection practice in a number of areas, including safer recruitment and internal assurance practices.
