Croydon tram crash inquests

The jury in the Croydon tram crash inquests have concluded that the 7 victims died as a result of an accident. A further 51 passengers were injured when the tram overturned on 9 November 2016 as a result of a high speed derailment. The jury found that failings by the operator of the tramway (who did not identify the risk of a tram derailing at speed) and the driver (who became disorientated probably due to a microsleep) contributed to the accident.

Jonathan Ashley-Norman QC and Bo-Eun Jung acted for the Office of Rail and Road.

Sarah Le Fevre acted for the London Fire Brigade.
