Judgment given in End Violence Against Women Coalition judicial review proceedings

The High Court has today dismissed a legal challenge against the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), brought by the End Violence Against Women coalition, who had argued that the CPS had taken a series of actions which changed the way cases of alleged rape and other serious sexual assaults were considered by prosecutors.  The Director of Public Prosecutions had denied these allegations.

Clair Dobbin QC appeared on behalf of the Director of Pubic Prosecutions, led by Tom Little QC.
