Not guilty verdict in Winchester Crown Court murder trial

The defendant in a murder trial at Winchester Crown Court has been found not guilty by reason of insanity, after standing accused of killing his brother-in-law and attempting to kill his sister and nephew. In a difficult and complex two week case before Mrs Justice Eady at Winchester Crown Court, the jury were persuaded of the defence case on the contested psychiatric evidence.

Alisdair Williamson QC and Edmund Gritt appeared on behalf of the defence.
