Jane Humphryes QC

Chambers is sad to announce that Jane Humphryes QC will no longer practise at the Bar as she pursues other interests.

Jane was called to the Bar in 1983, and was appointed as a Recorder of the Crown Court in 1999. She became a member of chambers in 1993 and took silk in 2003.  Jane developed a very successful practice in the areas of serious crime and particularly in cases of sexual offences, murder, fraud, and corruption.

Jane is renowned for her fearless court presence and her flawless ability to understand all the relevant details in a case. She was considered to instill the utmost confidence in her clients and to immediately gain respect and credibility from both the opposing side and the judge and jury.

Jane starred in a BBC 2 programme called The Verdict, which brought together twelve celebrities that formed a jury for a fictional rape case. Jane represented the first defendant, where the jury reached a ‘verdict’ of not guilty.

Jane has been a popular colleague and friend for almost 20 years, and we wish her and her husband Tim our very best wishes for the future.
