Record fines imposed following prosecution under Data Protection Act

A firm of loss adjusters and two senior officials have been fined under the Data Protection Act for tasking private investigators illegally to access bank records.

£150,000 + fines (a record for the Information Commission) were imposed.

Richard Horwell QC and Robert Morris were instructed by the Information Commissioner’s Office.
