Ian Maguire and Anthony Benham, two former senior firefighters accused of the false imprisonment, physical and indecent assault of three Essex Fire Service recruits in the 80s and 90s have been acquitted of all charges against them. The Crown had alleged that the culture of bullying and intimidation had undermined the service; the Defence maintained that the complainants were exaggerating events in order to gain compensation.
