Contempt of court application in $2 billion Commercial Court claim

The Commercial Court heard an application for permission to bring committal proceedings for contempt of court against Viktor Pinchuk, the claimant in a $2 billion Commercial Court action. Mr Justice Flaux held that the application was premature, but ordered that the applicant Gennadiy Bogolyubov be at liberty to re-apply for permission following the trial of the main action in January 2016.

James Lewis QC, Ben Brandon, Rachel Scott and Patrick Hill represented Mr Bogolyubov, instructed by Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
