Public law

Three Raymond Buildings has built, and continues to build, an excellent reputation in the area of Public Law. Members of Chambers appear frequently in judicial review proceedings for both claimants and defendants. We have particular expertise in dealing with applications arising out of extradition proceedings, inquests, decisions relating to the investigation and prosecution of criminal matters, and prison welfare.

Our work in the field of licensing means that we also have considerable experience in dealing with applications for judicial review relating to environmental law and licensing applications and we have appeared in many of the leading cases in these areas.

Members of Chambers are regularly instructed by the government in public law matters. In particular, Hugo Keith QC was a member of the “A” Panel of civil Treasury Counsel for 8 years and continues to be instructed by the government in matters of public law. As members of the “B” panel of civil Treasury Counsel, Clair Dobbin and Ben Watson are instructed in a wide variety of judicial review claims and advise government departments on a range of public law issues.
