On 1 May 2013 the UN Security Council sanctions committee decided to remove Mr A from the Al-Qaida sanctions list, following his successful petition to the UN Ombudsperson. Rachel Barnes and Patrick Hill acted for Mr A, instructed by Gavin Sullivan, cooperating lawyer with the European Centre for Constitutional and Human Rights.
Mr A is now the third client for whom Rachel Barnes and Patrick Hill have acted in successful UN delisting petitions.
