The trial of a police officer accused of stamping on a teenage boy attracted widespread national press after it was suggested he had invented facts to smear his accuser. Disclosure faults were uncovered forcing a u-turn by the prosecution. A jury acquitted him at the end of the week long trial after a few minutes retirement.
Kevin Baumber defended the officer.
