Lorna Jamous was prosecuted by the General Dental Council for carrying out cosmetic teeth whitening. Following a trial at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, she was acquitted of the charges. District Judge Elizabeth Roscoe held that it had not been proved that teeth whitening constituted the “practice of dentistry”, within the meaning of section 37 of the Dentists Act 1984.
Rachel Kapila represented the defendant.
