Banker’s girlfriends acquitted

A German banker working in the Mergers and Acquisitions department of the London office of Japanese bank used his two girlfriends to buy the stock of a target company of a deal in which he was involved on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. All three were prosecuted for Insider Dealing. The prosecution was brought by the Financial Services Authority. Thomas Amman pleaded guilty. The two women pleaded Not Guilty and were tried at the Southwark Crown Court. They were both acquitted.

The first defendant, CW, was represented by Alexander Cameron QC.
