Businessman in bullion trial acquitted

Andreas Nicolas and his son, Kyriacos, were acquitted by a jury less than three hours after it had retired to consider its verdicts. The Nicolases had been charged with conspiracy to launder the bullion, which had been stolen in Belgium. Two small bars of the gold had been found by Belgian police hidden in the bra of a co-defendant.

Andreas Nicolas was represented by Alexander Cameron QC.
