James Hines QC was lead trial counsel in the latest Libor trial brought by the SFO having been briefed in 2012.
Jay Merchant, Jonathan Mathew and Alex Pabon were convicted of conspiracy to defraud in relation to Libor manipulation following a three months trial at Southwark Crown Court Peter Johnson had earlier pleaded guilty. They were sentenced to between 6 ½ years and 2 years 9 months’ imprisonment.
